airberlin, Germany’s second largest airline, has optimised flight price data to supply dynamic price comparison and packaging systems in collaboration with TravelTainment and Peakwork, two software specialists for the tourist industry.
This has already enabled TravelTainment to record availability of almost 100% and price correction percentages in single figures.
“The fact that we have been able to achieve such outstanding results in such a short period of time is above all thanks to the excellent and focused team work of the project team consisting of our IT department, TravelTainment and Peakwork,” said Project Manager Beate Kassner, Vice President Touristic Sales at airberlin.
“We are very pleased that, as a result of the new and improved quality of the airberlin data, the products of our nearly three dozen TT-DataMix customers will be displayed even more reliably and accurately on the leading price comparison and advice system TT-BistroPortal. It’s good to know that we have raised an important component of packaging to a new quality standard,” said Oliver Rengelshausen, Managing Director of TravelTainment.
“We are very enthusiastic about the quality of the new airberlin data. Users of the Player-Hub technology and other external sales systems will benefit from the high quality of the data,” said Ralf Usbeck, Chairman of Peakwork.
On the basis of airberlin fare and availability data, a system has been developed by airberlin which updates flight price data every two hours for the whole of the airberlin group’s flight programme, with departures from Germany, Austria and Switzerland shown in the EDF format from Peakwork. This is the basis for being able to make INFX data available using the Peakwork player. TravelTainment has put together a team of experts responsible for the integration and quality assurance of the data for the TT-BistroPortal and TT-DataMix systems. The team was in regular contact with airberlin to optimise the processes for data delivery and packaging. TravelTainment is also closely involved in the planned production in OTDS format.
Flight price data will be available to the partners immediately in EDF and INFX format, and shortly also in OTDS. The data are to be obtained directly from airberlin.
