Monday, October 21, 2013MaltaTourism Minister Karmenu Vella, in a meeting with Palestinian Tourism Minister Rula Ma’ayah held in R - amallah, said that Malta would support Palestine in terms of helping it enhance its tourism industry.
Mr Vella formed part of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s delegation during his visit to Palestine last week. Mr Vella said that Malta would also assist Palestine in drawing up a plan in a bid to develop its tourism sector.
During the meeting, Mr Vella invited Palestine to send a number of students over to Malta to undergo tourism-related studies and ITS while also suggetsing that a number of government officials visit Malta to gain tourism-related experience.
On a separate note, during his visit to Israel, a number of tourism initiatives were discussed between him and representatives of Eshet Tours and Aviation Links – leading tour operators who promote tours to Malta. It’s been estimated that around 30,000 Israelis would have come over to Malta during 2013.
