The major summer exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts is dedicated to unusual heads from June to September.
Over 4,000 years of history are dealt with in the exhibition " Strong Heads. Portrait(s) of the Museum of Fine Arts " : On display are paintings, sculptures, medals and coins as well as mummy portraits, sphinx heads and Roman gravestones from the age of the ancient Egyptians to around 1800. Over 90 works of art and approx. 80 medals and coins are intended to give an impression of how depictions of faces and portraits have changed over the millennia.
Works by Titian, Albrecht D ü rer, Diego Vel á zquez, Rembrandt and Peter Paul Rubens can be seen, as can exhibits from the repository of the Museum of Fine Arts that have never before been shown to the general public.
