In response to strong corporate demand, Virgin Australia will increase flights between Brisbane and key regional cities Emerald, Newcastle and Rockhampton.
Additional services between Brisbane and Emerald will commence on 29 October 2012, while from 12 November 2012 new flights will commence between Brisbane and Newcastle and also Brisbane and Rockhampton.
Virgin Australia Group Executive Alliances, Network and Yield Merren McArthur, said: “Demand from the corporate and resources sectors for more flights for each of these key regional cities has been strong; so we are very pleased to be increasing air services linking Emerald, Newcastle and Rockhampton to Brisbane.”
“Not only are we providing more choice of flight times but we have adjusted schedules to provide better onward domestic and international connections beyond Brisbane. For example, people wanting to travel from Newcastle to Los Angeles, will be able to enjoy a seamless connection onto our weekday direct service from Brisbane to Los Angeles,” Ms McArthur said.
From 29 October, week day services between Brisbane and Emerald will increase from three to four per day. Sunday services will increase from two to three and a flight will also be introduced on Saturdays for the first time.
