World's smallest pop up hotel in Covent Garden. Introducing the World’s Smallest Pop-Up Hotel! Visit London is rolling out the (miniature) red carpet for one week only with the launch of a diminutive pop-up hotel that visits a different tourist attraction across the city each day.
A real ‘money can’t buy’ opportunity, visitors to the city could win a chance to stay in this unique ‘hotel’ for one night only, absolutely free! Lucky guests will literally have London on their doorstep as they wake up at iconic locations including The Merlin Entertainments London Eye, Covent Garden’s popular Piazza or the world famous ZSL London Zoo, giving new meaning to the term “a room with a view”!
The pop up hotel has been created to highlight London’s unique range of attractions which are easily accessible from around the capital. In fact, the top 20 largest hotels in London boast, on average, an incredible 20 attractions within a five minute walk.*
The Visit London pop-up hotel will be open from the 15th – 19th March for one week only. Each night it will be positioned in the following locations: ZSL London Zoo, Alexandra Palace, The Merlin Entertainments London Eye, Covent Garden and the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich.
To offer guests unrivalled views of London landmarks, Visit London has transformed a luxury American Airstream into a beautiful bedroom suite, teaming up with Radisson Edwardian Hotels to stamp their own unique style on the pop-up hotel. The high spec mini hotel now features a dedicated concierge, check in desk, room service, a flat screen TV, sound system, fridge and dining room area, double bed with luxury bedding, en-suite facilities and all the other little touches you would expect to find in a top London hotel.
Sally Chatterjee, Interim CEO, Visit London commented:
“We are delighted to unveil the world’s smallest pop-up hotel in celebration of London’s unique offering for visitors. Only in London can you stay in an incredible range of accommodation from luxury hotels to cosy bed and breakfasts while enjoying a huge variety of attractions, restaurants, shops and events that are just a stone’s throw away. For one week only, visitors to the capital will have the opportunity to wake up and enjoy exclusive views of the world’s most iconic skylines.”
Linda Plant, Director of Marketing, Radisson Edwardian Hotels commented,
“We’ve had great fun working with Visit London on the creation of the world’s smallest pop-up hotel and extremely flattered that they’ve chosen our Radisson Edwardian Bloomsbury Street Hotel as the inspiration for the design.
“London has such an overwhelming number of attractions – cultural, historical and social - we’ve tried to make life a little easier for visitors by positioning our 12 London hotels conveniently by some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks such as The British Museum (Radisson Edwardian Bloomsbury Street), Theatreland & Covent Garden (Radisson Edwardian Mountbatten). Natural History Museum (Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt) and Oxford Street (Radisson Edwardian Berkshire).”
London now holds the title of the world’s smallest pop-up hotel (measuring 203 sq ft). The smallest hotel in the world is in the Bavarian town of Amberg and measures just 603 sq ft.
This event is part of Visit London’s ‘Only In London’ campaign, which aims to highlight the truly unique experiences international and domestic visitors can enjoy when they come to the capital.
