ALS événements
Tracking down a swing jazz trio, or a classical music quartet for a more intimate vibe, or a group of professional
musicians and dancers to transform a by-invitation-only evening into a proper French can-can show is an easy
task with Anne-Laurence Savin’s agency ALS Événements, which specializes in organizing musical events. The
agency can put together a customized event in an exceptional venue such as the grounds of the Abbaye des
Vaux de Cernay, or concoct an event with a particular theme, like Middle Ages or Renaissance music; their operathemed
events feature all the most popular arias. The agency regularly organizes musical events for Paris palacecategory
luxury hotels and in the vast lobby of the Concorde Opéra Paris, where musical duos give concerts every
Thursday from 6pm to 9pm.

the company’s image and communication goals, both within its premises and off-site. It can organize prestigious

Brasserie Terminus Nord en route for the London Olympics
For a quick French gourmet meal just before hopping on the Eurostar and heading off to London for the 2012
summer Olympics, there could be no better choice than Terminus Nord. Since 1925, this brasserie just across
the road from the Gare du Nord has served generous portions of traditional French cooking, taking one’s taste
buds back in time. The ‘express’ menu served in less than 30 minutes will delight London-bound visitors in
a hurry to get their train. Fish lovers are in for a treat: the brasserie is reputed for its seafood platter, sole
meunière and bouillabaisse.

Butard Enescot to celebrate the Olympics
Butard Enescot is tipping its hat to Britain at this year’s summer Olympics. For the sweet-toothed, the chefs at
this Paris caterer’s have come up with a series of one-off macaroons in the colours of the Olympic rings – blue,
yellow, black, green and red. The delicate flavours also have a British touch – blueberry, orange marmalade,
Earl Grey, mint chocolate, and cherry. All summer long, this collection of macaroons will have pride of place on
tables assembled by Butard Enescot. The company has worked since its inception for a prestigious client base
(for example, in 2002 Butard Enescot secured the catering franchise for the Pavillon Royal in the heart of the
Bois de Boulogne), and the Olympic sweet treats are worthy of its reputation as a creator of culinary delights.

The golden age of La Coupole
La Coupole is hosting an exhibition retracing its history to mark its fiftieth anniversary. No fewer than fifty black
and white photos bring the golden age of this legendary Montparnasse establishment – the Roaring Twenties
– back to life, complete with the lively atmosphere and memorable menus. The exhibition includes portraits of
the famous ‘Montparnos’ who contributed to building the brasserie’s reputation. The photos on display have
been selected by Georges Viaud, a fan of the place who is also in charge of the historical legacy of the Brasserie
Flo. Meanwhile, La Couple has announced that it will be getting its menu translated into Chinese (an English
version is already available).

The second edition of “Afterworks du Club Affaires”
On Tuesday 12 June, the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau invited its business tourism members to an
exclusive evening networking event. For this year’s event, the second edition, 175 professionals from 103 companies
flocked to the Purgatoire, the new loft events venue in the 10th arrondissement, for a convivial after
work meet-up.
The highlight of the evening was the culinary workshop organized by Alain Cirelli, involving participants in
the cooking of a truffle risotto, vegetable ravioli, foie gras ‘candyfloss’ and passion fruit mojitos. Visitors also
enjoyed a magic show and the opportunity to browse the photo exhibition the venue is currently hosting.
